Private Tours in Puerto Vallarta
All year round, our private tours are a lot of fun as you can choose how you want to spend your day. You can add snorkeling and scuba diving to make your day the best it can possibly be. We can accommodate 8-10 adults depending on which activities you choose and a maximum of 12 people, if you have children in your group. Refreshments are NOT included on private tours, however, we provide a large cooler well stocked with ice so you can bring along your own drinks. You can choose to bring a picnic or request a stop at the beach for lunch.
We leave Marina Vallarta at 9 or 10am and take a leisurely cruise along the coastline, where we are often joined by dolphins, turtles, and manta rays. During the months of December through March, there is a good chance of seeing the humpback whales out to play.
If you wish to go south, we stop at Los Arcos (The Arches) for snorkeling. If you are a beginner, we offer instruction, and can join you in the water to show you the many fish that live around the rocks. Life jackets are provided along with masks, snorkels, and fins. Next we cruise around the island to visit the rare and unusual Blue-footed Boobies that are residents of Turtle Rock. When you are finished playing in the water, we carry on south, along the coastline where we will stop at your chosen destination from the following four options:
1. Quimixto, where we can take you on a hike to a beautiful waterfall, or you can opt for the horses to do the work and enjoy a plod through the forest. At the waterfall, you can swim, eat, drink, or all of the above. (The cost of the horse ride is approximately 150 pesos return.)
2. Las Animas, where you can have lunch in a great little sea food restaurant, enjoy the golden sand between your toes, play in the ocean, go to a small zip lining park ($20usd extra), and even parasail as an extra to your day.
3. Caballo (horse) is a stunning palm-tree-lined beach with soft, white sand and clear water. We will swim the cooler onto this deserted beach, where you can enjoy your picnic and drinks. In our opinion, this is one of the prettiest beaches in the world. However due to ocean conditions, this option is only feasible during the summer months of June to October.
4. Playa Colomitos is a small beach with a great restaurant, and a great view over the ocean. You could also stop here for a swim and snorkel and have your picnic on the beach, instead of at the restaurant option. Please note that the restaurant is not suitable for children under 14yrs old and is closed on a Tuesday.
During the months of December to March, we can go whale watching as well as snorkeling, paddle-boarding, and playing on the beach. You can spend a few hours with the whales, then head to Las Animas for lunch and visit Los Arcos on the way home.
Another destination is Islas Marietas, however, it’s a long boat journey north to this hidden beach. This tour must depart at 9am, as it takes over an hour to get here, but the snorkeling and beaches are amazing. There is an extra charge of $10USD per person for the Marine park permits. Also since it is a national reserve there are no restaurants, food, or beverages aloud here. Therefore, your picnic must be consumed on the boat. You may still snorkel and/or dive here. The Blue-footed Boobies can also be found on these Islands.
All tours are up to 6hrs in length and depart from and return to Marina Vallarta. For an extra charge of $8USD per person we can provide sandwiches, soda, and water for your picnic. Alternatively if you choose the restaurant option, please note they only take cash in pesos so be prepared.
Don’t forget to add the hire of snorkeling equipment and/or scuba equipment with your own divemaster/instructor. Also add Islas Marietas permits and lunch if that is required for your tailor made day.
